VIDODINE-SM
Povidone-Lodine, Metronidazole, and Sucralfate Ointment- This Ointment comes under the branding of VIDODINE-SM and it also prevents skin infection spread by harmful bacteria due to cuts, wounds, and burns. This composition belongs to the class of dermatological preparation called ‘antibiotics’ combined with ‘antiseptic’ primarily used to treat the skin’s burns and wounds.
Povidone-Lodine, Metronidazole, and Sucralfate Ointment contains a combination of three medicines: Povidone-iodine, Metronidazole, and Sucralfate. Povidone Iodine can easily oxidize essential natural substances and penetrate microorganisms, leading to cell death. Metronidazole is an antibiotic that kills bacteria and other harmful organisms by damaging their DNA. Sucralfate is an anti-ulcer medicine that is used to cover the damaged tissue and protect it against injury to facilitate healing.
Can I use this ointment with other medicines?
Please consult your doctor if you use other topical medicines before starting your course. However, products containing enzymatic components, alkali, mercury, silver, hydrogen peroxide, tannic acid, and taurolidine may interact with this ointment and should not be used simultaneously.
What are the instructions for the storage of this medicine?
Keep this medicine in the packet or the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack of medicine. Dispose of the unused medicine after the expiry date. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children, and other people.
Can driving be safe after using this medicine?
This medicine is generally safe to use before driving. However, if you notice any side effects like dizziness or burning sensation in the affected areas, avoid driving and operating machinery until you feel better.
When should I avoid using this medicine?
This ointment is not recommended for use if you are undergoing lithium therapy or radioactive iodine treatment. It should not be used before or after radioiodine scintigraphy or radioiodine treatment of thyroid carcinoma. In such conditions, please consult your doctor before using this medicine.
