MECOVA-GP (ALU-ALU)
Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin Tablet come with the branding “MECOVA-GP” and belong to a class of ‘anticonvulsants’, mostly for the treatment of partial seizures (epilepsy) and other conditions of nerve pain/damage, such as post-herpetic neuralgia. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder where the brain activity becomes abnormal, with the occurrence of seizure episodes, sometimes resulting in loss of awareness or consciousness. Neuralgia is a chronic pain disorder of the nerves that occurs due to damage to the nerves or other neurological disorders, such as neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia, or shingles.
Gabapentin And Methylcobalamin Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Gabapentin (anticonvulsant) and Methylcobalamin (Mecobalamin or vitamin B12). Gabapentin controls seizures or fits by adjusting chemical messengers (neurotransmitters) in the brain, further preventing their abnormal stimulation in the brain. Methylcobalamin is a vitamin B12 coenzyme form. It restores and safeguards damaged nerve cells by producing a substance called myelin. It also controls body functions, including cell proliferation, blood cell formation, and protein synthesis. Both of them assist in alleviating neuropathic pain caused due to nerve injury and other neurological conditions.
